Statement on the Passing of Dr. Bob Kemp
Miller pays tribute to a champion of the community

HAMILTON—As my childhood physician and my mother’s employer for over twenty-five years, Dr. Bob played a special role in my life. I recall a specific late night house call which Dr. Bob, a man already in his late seventies, paid my ill father many years ago; a visit which was made solely out of devotion to his patients. Moments like this speak volumes about both the kind of physician and person Dr. Bob was.

Dr. Bob has left a legacy in our community. Beyond the countless lives he has touched during his more than 50 years of practice, the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice will continue to provide care to those who are truly in need for many years to come. This was always the underlying principle of Dr. Bob’s work. He held an unmatched respect for the lives of those in his care, and for this, our community will forever be in his debt.

With the passing of any great man and good friend, it is always difficult to achieve a balance between mourning a loss and celebrating a life. Dr. Bob Kemp was an outstanding human being, and while desperately missed, he will forever be remembered by the legacy he has left behind.
